This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled on timaeos.dev and by personal developer tools, command-line utilities, and autonomous automation services maintained by Timothy Arnold (timaeos).
1. General Website Usage
timaeos.dev is a personal engineering website, technical portfolio, and blog.
- No Tracking or Third-Party Analytics: We do not track visitors, run advertising networks, or use tracking cookies.
- Hosting Logs: Standard web server access logs (such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL) are collected solely for system administration, abuse prevention, and infrastructure security. These logs are never shared or sold.
2. Personal Developer Tools & Google API Integrations
Timothy Arnold develops and maintains personal software utilities and open-source command-line tools (such as gog and custom productivity daemons) that interact with Google APIs to manage personal productivity tasks.
Scope of Data Access
When our internal tools or command-line scripts request authorization to access your Google account (via Google OAuth 2.0), they access only the specific scopes you explicitly authorize, which may include:
- Reading, sending, and organizing email messages (Gmail API).
- Reading and managing calendar events (Google Calendar API).
- Accessing files in Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Contacts for personal backup, task management, or synchronization.
Data Storage & Handling
- Local Storage Only: All OAuth tokens, credentials, and downloaded data reside locally on your authenticated devices (e.g. in secure local keyrings or encrypted filesystem stores).
- No Third-Party Sharing: Your personal data is never sold, leased, or transferred to third-party advertising companies, data brokers, or commercial entities.
- No Advertising or Surveillance: Data obtained via Google APIs is used exclusively to perform the direct functionality requested by the user (such as synchronizing calendar schedules or reading notification digests) and is never used for serving advertisements.
3. Google API Limited Use Disclosure
Any tool or application associated with timaeos.dev that accesses Google user data adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- Google user data is accessed only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the application’s interface.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties unless necessary to provide the service, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger/acquisition with user consent.
- We do not use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, including personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
- Humans do not read Google user data unless you have given explicit consent for specific messages/files, for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or when aggregate internal statistics are needed for debugging.
4. Retention & Deletion
- Revocation of Access: You can revoke an application’s access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions.
- Local Deletion: You can delete stored authentication tokens and local data from your machine at any time by clearing the tool’s local configuration directory (e.g.,
rm -rf ~/.config/gogcli).
